University of Calabar Examination Misconduct Offences and Prescribed Punishments.

1. Communication with another students in the examination hall. Punishment: Cancelation of the paper for both students. 2. Possession of extraneous materials in the examination hall. Punishment: suspension for one academic session. 3a. Copying from extraneous materials 3b. Copying from materials received from another students in the examination hall. Punishment: suspension for two academic session for the student or students involved. 4. Impersonation in Examination. Punishment: expulsion of both students from the university if they are both students of the University of Calabar and only our student was impersonated for if the other person is not a student 5. Writing examination, term paper or project for another student. Punishment: expulsion of the students involved. When the other party is a non-student, the person should be reported to the police. 6. Breaking in or unauthorized entry into any office of the University of Calabar and/or removing, changing or tempering with examination materials or results and illegal removal of same. Punishment: Expulsion from the University. 7A. Plagiarizing the entire; a. Undergraduate/Diploma/Certificate term paper or project b. Graduate term paper or Project c. Graduate thesis/Dissertation 7B. Plagiarising only part/section of any of the above Punishment: Cancelation of the term paper or project plus suspension for one/two academic session(s) 8. Presentation of a fake result(s) by a student or for a student to the University. Punishment: Cancelation of the result if there is no evidence that the student is involved in organizing the fake result. 9. Snatching of examination materials before or after an examination by a student. Punishment: expulsion of all involved. 10a. Possession of cell phone in an examination hall 10b. Usage of the cell phone. Punishment: Seizure of the phone and cancelation of the paper and suspension for one academic session for 10a and 10b respectively. 11. Possession of another students fee clearance card or receipt in the examination hall with the intension to write for herself/himself. Punishment: Suspension for one academic session. All the best!
